According to Andriy Veselyy, the head of the Charitable Foundation Rodyny Veseloho, soon Ukrainian diasporas in Canada and Europe will have an opportunity to see the famous picture "Russian Warship go f" in their cities.
On July 16, the citizens of Drohobych, Lviv region, could visit an event dedicated to a legendary painting of Boris Groh and help Ukrainian defenders. Andriy Veselyy, the head of the Charitable Foundation Rodyny Veseloho (Veselyy Family), brought the famous picture "Russian Warship go f" to the town, so everyone could see it. This picture depicts the cruiser Moskva, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea fleet, which was sunk on April 14, 2022, by the Ukrainian army. The image became symbolic after Ukrposhta used it for its new post stamp. On the first day of sales, Ukrposhta sold more than 800,000 such stamps.
The painting exhibited in Drohobych was transferred from Lviv. There, Andriy Veselyy purchased it during a charity auction 1000 Cars of Freedom. The raised funds from the auction were spent on purchasing two ambulances for the front line. The event in Drohobych also included the exhibition of the "Russian Warship" stamp, a rap concert by Khas, and an opportunity for local people to write letters of support to Ukrainian defenders.
After the event, the two vehicles and the letters written by Drohobych citizens were sent to the front line. According to Andriy Veselyy, the raised funds are enough not only for buying the vehicles and transferring them to the war zone but also for their maintenance.
Groh's painting, meanwhile, will go in the other direction. The Foundation is planning to send it on a charity tour in Europe and Canada.
"There, the Ukrainian diaspora representatives together with charitable foundations that are helping Ukraine in this difficult time will receive the picture. They will also hold local exhibitions and fundraise for Ukraine," Andriy Veselyy explains.
The charitable organization "Charitable Foundation Rodyny Veseloho" was created by Andriy Veselyy in 2013. After 2014, it started to help servicemen and families of fallen defenders. After the full-scale invasion of Russia to Ukraine, the Foundation organized a logistics hub in Drohobych. At the moment, the hub delivers humanitarian aid to displaced persons and personal protective equipment and transport to military units.
